Membership
Information and Requirements:
Please be advised that we are accepting new members.
Please check this site often, as the status may change from time to time,
based on the current number of members in good standing.
New Membership Procedures and requirements are as follows:
- All prospective members must have: A) A valid NJ
FID. B) Proof of Firearms Training.
(Any one of the following is acceptable: Any NRA Firearms Training
Certificate, Diploma of Graduation from a Police Academy or a Law
Enforcement Identification Card, or NJ Hunter Safety Firearms Card, not
prior to the year 2003, or US Military Honorable Discharge Papers.
- All Prospective members must write (via US Mail) to the club,
requesting to be placed on the membership waiting list. Your correspondence MUST include:
Daytime phone number, evening phone number, email address (if you have
email) and your home address. The
waiting list will be kept in the order of the postmark upon your
correspondence. You will receive
notice of which Orientation Meeting you may attend.
- The applicant must be sponsored by a member in
good standing. If the applicant
does not have a sponsor, the applicant must:
i.
Supply two (2) letters of recommendation attesting to the
applicant’s character and or past experience in the safe use of firearms.
ii.
Successfully complete an interview with the Membership Committee.
- All new applicants will be contacted and invited
to a mandatory Orientation Meeting on the last Thursday evening of a given
month at 7:30 PM. The applicant MUST possess and present a valid New
Jersey Firearms Identification Card, proof of training, and either the two
letters of recommendation or the name of your sponsor. Additionally, all perspective members
must have payment at the time of application (We accept personal checks
and money orders).
Any applicant who does NOT
have their materials in order at the meeting, or fails to attend the meeting
for which they where scheduled, will be dropped from the waiting list, and
will need to restart the process, as stated above
.
- Upon completion of the steps above, the
applicant will complete and file an application for membership, pay the
initiation fee, pay the prorated dues and purchase a card key. The applicant is at this point a
probationary member.
- To advance to full membership, the probationary
member must complete the following requirements within the probationary
period of ninety days (90):
i.
Attend a regular business meeting to be introduced to the
membership. (The Regular Business meetings are held on the first Wednesday of
each month at 8:00PM.)
ii. Perform one (1) workday.
Workdays are scheduled each month, on the Saturday after the regular business
meeting.
iii. Once the above requirements are met and ninety days have
elapsed, the probationary member must attend the
next regular business meeting to be voted upon
by the membership.
If the probationary member does
not complete the requirements within ninety days, the probationary member will have his or her access card disabled, probationary status will be revoked, and
his or her membership shall be terminated. If the “applicant” has suffered a legitimate
hard ship and desires to continue to strive for membership, he or she must appear before the Board of Trustees and
present his or her case for continuation. The Board of Trustees
will make the final decision regarding reinstatent to
probationary status.
If the Board of Trustees allows reinstatement, the probationary
member must complete the requirements within an agreed upon time. If the requirements are not met, the
probationary member will lose all rights and privileges to the club. If the decision of the Board of Trustees is
to disallow reinstatement, the applicant will lose all rights and privileges to
the club. If disallowed, the applicant
will receive his or her prorated dues based on the number of months remaining
in the year.
